Emily
/Halloween 2017
Emily is the main character from the Amulet book series by Kazu Kibuishi. She’s an epic hero with an incredible story.
I freehand designed a fleece cape, a teal tunic and microsuede hand wraps. I made the amulet from Sculpey (I combined regular Sculpey with the glow-in-the-dark variety so at least it glowed some of the time). She had a red birch staff.
As her candy pumpkin couldn’t go ignored, I painted three of the more important amulets from the book series onto it and turned its face into Miskit, Emily’s rabbit sidekick.
And of course, the jack o’lantern that year was Amulet-themed.
