EQUALITY FOR ALL MEANS ALL.

One aspect of the American suffrage movement that’s rightfully gaining more exposure lately is its overwhelming whiteness and sometimes tacit, sometimes explicit racism. Burying those inconvenient truths has also hidden from common awareness the legacies of leaders like Ida B. Wells and Zitkala-Ša. While it’s becoming easier to find information about these heroic women and their allies, I still want to learn more about the clubs and suffrage organizations created by women of color. If you can help point me in the right direction, I’d love to hear from you.
